Trevin Wax has completed a chapter-by-chapter review of Robert Wuthnow’s book, After the Baby Boomers: How Twenty- and Thirty-Somethings Are Shaping the Future of American Religion (#7 on Al Mohler’s list of books every pastor should read this year).
Wax concludes with six suggestions after reading Wuthnow’s book:
- Raise expectations regarding post-boomer religious participation while simultaneously providing support for this generation.
- Buck the trend of late marriages.
- Reach out to new movers.
- Emphasize doctrine again.
- Stop expending so much time and energy debating stylistic issues.
- We need to deepen our understanding of other religious faiths.
